The Challenge
The design challenge reflected in this page is introducing an online community with warmth and clarity. Visitors need to understand who TrevorSpace is for and what it offers, while recognizing the distinction between connecting with peers and speaking to a trained crisis counsellor. The balance is between creating a welcoming introduction and making different support options easy to understand.
Introduce the community and its intended age group clearly.
Create a welcoming tone without overwhelming visitors.
Distinguish peer connection from professional crisis support.
Keep community access and further information easy to find.
The Solution
The landing page leads with a concise community introduction, explaining its audience and moderated setting, alongside a login link for existing members. A separate support section directs visitors towards counselling services and educational resources. These distinct pathways keep community participation separate from other forms of support, while a “Quick Exit” option provides a way to leave the website quickly.
The Result
A community-focused introduction with different next steps for different needs. Visitors can learn about peer connection, explore information on identity and wellbeing, or follow a separate route to a trained counsellor. The experience brings these options together without presenting them as interchangeable services.
A clear introduction to the community’s purpose and audience.
Access to educational resources covering identity, community, and mental health.
A separate pathway to professional crisis support.
